The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has reached an incredible milestone—its 100th space mission! On January 29, 2025, early in the morning, the GSLV-F15 rocket successfully blasted off from Sriharikota and placed the NVS-02 satellite into orbit.

A Perfect Start to 2025!

At 6:23 a.m., the powerful rocket soared into the sky from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. After liftoff, ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan proudly announced, “The first launch of 2025 has been successfully accomplished.” This mission marks an exciting step for India’s space program!

What is NVS-02?

The NVS-02 satellite is part of India’s NavIC navigation system (similar to GPS). It weighs 2,250 kg and will orbit Earth at 111.75ºE, replacing an older satellite (IRNSS-1E). What makes NVS-02 special? It uses advanced atomic clocks to measure time super accurately, helping in navigation and positioning.

Why is This Mission Important?

  • It strengthens India’s navigation system.
  • It uses indigenous technology, proving India’s growing space power.
  • It celebrates 100 successful launches—a proud moment for ISRO!

With this historic mission, ISRO is off to a fantastic start in 2025. What’s next? Maybe human space travel or even missions to Mars and beyond! 🚀✨
